Biography

Dayang Salyani Abang Mahmod is a lecturer in Department of Chemical Engineering and Energy Sustainability at Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).
She registered as a Graduate Engineer (No. 58962A-Chemical) from Board of Engineers Malaysia, Graduate Member (No. 99522) from the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia and Graduate Technologist (No. GT20040203) from Malaysia Board of Technologist.
She received her double degree Ph.D from the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia and Université de Limoges (UNILIM) in Limoges, France. She obtained her Ph.Ds in Mechanical Engineering and also Ceramic Materials and Surface Treatments. For master study, she graduated in Master of Engineering in Gas and Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical-Gas, both from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Skudai, Johor.
Currently, her research focuses on the advanced materials and laser material processing. Before entering as academician in UNIMAS, she worked as Technical Executive (Energy) at Edgenta Mediserve Sdn. Bhd. and experienced in energy management system. She also experienced in research of precursor of carbon fiber via multi-hole spinneret, and investigation of air/fuel mixing characteristics in the cold flow system using CFD simulation during her study period. In her past, working as a Research Officer and Research Assistant at Advanced Membrane Technology Research Centre (AMTEC), UTM she involved in collaboration in Sime Darby project entitled degumming of crude palm oil. In addition, she also conducted various materials characterization techniques.
Throughout her studies and working experiences, she has published a few articles which indexed in ISI Web of Science and Scopus, and an international patent.
