FELCRA (Palm Oil Mill) Technical Visit and Tour to
Sarawak Cultural Village
(optional at USD60 per person)
Exports
of edible palm oils is a major contributor to the Malaysian's
economy. Of recent, there has been strong interests in mixing the
palm oil with diesel oil to produce biodiesel (http://www.mpob.com.my).
A visit to an oil palm mill at Bau, about 50 km from Kuching City
will give an insight to the participants on the processes and
importance of palm oil industry to Malaysia's economy. Lunch will be
provided.

After the visit,
the participants will be brought to Sarawak Cultural Village
(http://www.scv.com.my) at Damai, about 30 km from Kuching City to
taste the diversity of the cultural of all ethnic groups living in
the State of Sarawak. The entrance fee to the village is included in
the package.
The
participants may opt to stay overnight at Damai Beach Resort after
the visit, before going back to Kuching City the following morning
after having the hotel breakfast. The participants may book direct

charges: RM212.75 nett per night with breakfast)

The boat trip on
the legendary Sarawak River is a unique experience. It will capture
a Sarawakian way of life from a different perspective. Main
attractions along the cruise include Malay houses on stilts, fishing
villages, shipyards, sawmills and nipah palms. Delight in the
breathtaking views of a violet and amber sky as the sun sets in the
evening.
